US power

¡Hola a todos de nuevo! Esta semana vuelvo mas americana que nunca. Y es que lo que os voy a enseñar hoy por una razón o por otra, está relacionado con Estados Unidos.

Hi everyone again! This week I come back more American than ever. And that is because what I’m going to show you today for one reason or another, it has to do with the United States of America.

En esta primera foto, la relación con Estados Unidos es más que evidente. En casa nos encantan las “American cookies”, y gracias a que en su embalaje están los colores de la bandera estadounidense he podido hacer este monedero tan mono.

In this first picture, the relation with the U.S. is more than evident. At home, we love American Cookies, and thanks to the fact that their package is printed in the colors of the American flag I could do this cute purse.

Sin embargo, en este caso vais a necesitar una explicación para encontrar la relación con Estados Unidos y más concretamente con Denver. Algunos de los que me conocéis personalmente sabréis que tengo unos amigos de Denver (de los que siempre os estoy hablando) con los que quedo para hablar (en inglés, por supuesto) cuando vienen a España. Cada charla con ellos es una master class para mí y siempre vuelvo a casa cargada de anotaciones en hojas que tienen que arrancar de su bloc de notas. Es por eso por lo que pensé que un regalo ideal sería un bloc de notas, pero personalizado (aquí es donde está la parte creativa). Así que, una vez elegida la frase y la tipografía, la dibujé en papel de embalar y después forré la libreta con él.  Y este fue el resultado.

However, in this case you’re going to need an explanation to find the relation with the U.S. and more specifically with Denver. Some of you, who know me personally, know that I have some friends from Denver –of whom I always talk you about them- with whom I get together to talk –in English, of course- when they come to Spain. Each chat with them is like a master class for me and I always come back home full loaded of notes in little paper sheets that they have to rip out from their notebook. That is why I thought that the perfect present would be a notebook but customized –here is where it comes the creative part-. So, once chosen the quote and the typography, I drew it in brown wrapping paper and wrapped the notebook with it. And this was the result.

Aniversario y vuelta definitiva/Anniversary and definitive back

Hola a todos de nuevo!!! Regreso definitivamente cuando se cumple un año de la creación de Patri Rocks, tras haber resuelto unos problemillas técnicos que me impedían la edición de las fotografías de mis diseños.

Hello everybody again!! I come back definitely now that is going to be the first anniversary of Patri Rocks, after having solved some technical problems that didn’t allow me to edit pictures of my designs.

Estad pendientes durante esta nueva temporada porque voy a incluir algunas creaciones que he realizado en el campo del diseño de interiores, así como del diseño gráfico (aunque, aquellos que me seguís en Facebook habréis podido ver un pequeño adelanto).

During this new season stay tuned because I’m going to include some new creations that I’ve made in the interior design field and also in the graphic design field –although, those who follow me on Facebook could have seen a small preview.

Regreso para mostraros unos diseños que mi profesora de inglés me pidió el curso pasado (si, lo sé…voy con retraso L) y que espero que os gusten.

I come back to show you two designs that my English teacher ask me to create for her last year –yes, I know…I’m delayed L- and I hope you like them.

En primer lugar, veréis una versión ligeramente diferente de la cartera negra de la colección de edición limitada del pasado año. He dicho que es una versión porque no es completamente negra sino que va en degradado desde el negro hasta el gris.

First, you’ll see a slightly different version of the black wallet from the last Limited Edition Collection. I’ve said that it is a version because it is not completely black but it goes from black to gray creating an ombre effect.

Y por último, aquí tenéis un anillo en color rosa fucsia hecho de bolitas de azabache, fotografiado junto al (también hecho a mano) embalaje típico de Patri Rocks.

And finally, here you have a fuchsia pink delica ring, pictured next to the –also handmade- Patri Rocks typical packaging.

De vuelta en el blog/Back to blog

Hola de nuevo!! Cuánto tiempo sin actividad en el blog…pero por fin ha coincidido que tengo tiempo para actualizarlo y que estoy inspirada para escribir. Así que, aquí estoy de nuevo, dispuesta a enseñaros algunas de las cosas que he diseñado durante este último mes.

Hi again!! It’s been a long time with no activity in the blog…but finally it has coincide that I have time to update it and that I’m inspired to write. So, here I am again, ready to show you some of the things that I’ve designed during last month.

Lo primero que quiero enseñaros es un conjunto de anillo y pendientes en blanco y negro hechos con delicas. Este conjunto no fue un pedido en sí. A ver, me explico, a una compañera de clase le gustaron unos pendientes hechos por mi que le enseñé por foto. Le dije que también se podía hacer el anillo a juego, pero no había encargo en firme. Sin embargo, decidí hacer el conjunto de todos modos porque si finalmente no lo quería…me lo quedaba yo, jajajaja!! No fue esto lo que sucedió, de hecho le encantó y suyos son ahora.

The first thing I want to show you is a set of a ring and a pair of earrings in black and white and made out of delicas. This set wasn’t a formal order. Let’s see if I can explain myself, a classmate of mine liked a pair of earrings made by me that I showed her in a Picture. I told her that I could also make the matching ring, but there wasn’t a formal order. However, I decided to make the set anyway because if she finally didn’t want it…I was going to keep it to myself, hahaha!!! It wasn’t that what happened, in fact, she loved it and they are hers now.

Pero…aquí no acaba la historia. Mi compañera de clase no se lo pensó dos veces y le regaló el conjunto a su suegra. Entonces ahora, como no tiene conjunto, estamos las dos en pleno proceso de diseño para hacer otro igual pero con colores diferentes. Asi que, cuando esté finalizado, os mostraré el resultado de la nueva creación.

But…here is not where the story ends. My classmate, without second thoughts, gave the set to her mother-in-law. So now, as she doesn’t have any set, the two of us are in the designing process to make another one but with different colors. So, when it is finished, I will show you the new creation’s result.

Creo que este tipo de bisutería no os la había enseñado nunca en el blog, por eso voy a explicaros de que está compuesta. El anillo está compuesto por cinco bolitas forradas, a su vez, con delicas. Lo particular de este anillo es que las bolitas que lo decoran no están estáticas, sino que van cambiando de posición conforme movemos la mano.

I think I’ve never showed this kind of jewelry in the blog, that’s why I’m going to explain you what’s made of. The ring is decorated with five beaded beads. The particular thing of this ring is, that the beaded beads that decorate it are not static, they are changing their position as we move our hand.

Los pendientes también están compuestos de dos bolitas (por pendiente), forradas  con delicas. Tienen una longitud de 6 cm (aunque, como ya sabéis, eso es totalmente personalizable) que hacen que sean muy elegantes.

The earrings are also decorated with two beaded beads –per earring-. Their length is 6 cm – although as you all know, this is something completely customizable- and that’s why they look so elegant and stylish.

Por último, quiero enseñaros como es el packaging que acompañó a este conjunto. El anillo lo metí dentro de una caja (hecha por mi misma con el cartón de una caja de galletas) forrada con papel de embalar y, por supuesto, con el logo de Patri Rocks. Y los pendientes iban dentro de una bolsita hecha a mano con papel de embalar también y con el logo de Patri Rocks de nuevo.

Finally, I want to show you how was the packaging of this set. The ring was inside of a box –made by me with a box of cookies- wrapped with brown paper and, of course, Patri Rocks logo. The earrings were inside of a brown little handmade paper bag and also with Patri Rocks logo.

Más pedidos/More orders

 Hola #rockers!! Ya estoy por aquí de nuevo!! Qué rápido me pasan ahora las semanas desde que me tenéis tan ocupada con vuestros pedidos (que conste que estoy encantada!). Con el post de la semana pasada ya son dos los monederos y un tarjetero que me han encargado con imágenes personalizadas, y la verdad es que han quedado genial.

Hello #rockers!! Here I am again!! How quickly weeks pass now that I'm so busy with all your orders (for the record, I'm delighted!). Thanks to last week's post, there are already two cube coin purses and one card holder with personalised pictures ordered , and the truth is that the result is great. 

Muchas veces me preguntan cómo hago los monederos de paquetes de papas y resulta bastante complicado explicar el proceso, por eso me he decidido a mostraros unas fotos de cómo es una de sus fases. 

People often ask me how do I make the candy wrapper purses and is quite difficult to explain the process, so that's why I decided to show you some pictures of how is one of its phases.

Como habeis visto en las fotos anteriores, esas tiras en zig-zag se hacen para posteriormente unirlas unas con otras verticalmente. Una de las tiras está cerrada formando un círculo y la otra está abierta, pudiendo así añadir más papeles y darle el largo deseado.

As you have seen in the previous pictures, these zig-zag strips are made to then put them together vertically. One of the strips is closed forming a circle and the another one is open, so I can add more papers and give it the desired lenght.

Aquí tenéis un avance de cómo ha quedado uno de los pedidos. No os lo puedo enseñar entero porque es un regalo y no quiero estropear la sorpresa :) ¿Será una cartera? ¿Un monedero? ¿Una carpeta?...haced apuestas, jajaja.

Here you have a preview about how is going to be one of the orders. I can't show it entirely because is a present and I don't want to spoil the surprise :) Is it a wallet? A coin purse? A portfolio?...place your bets, hahaha.

Otra de las cosas que no sabéis todavía (menos aquellos que ya han recibido sus pedidos) es cómo es el packaging de mis creaciones, por eso aquí tenéis unas fotitos para que lo veaís.

Another thing that you don't know yet (except those who have alreafy received their orders) is how the packaging of my creations looks, so here you have some pics to see it.

Ya hace un tiempo que me decidí a utilizar papel de embalar para envolver regalos porque al ser un color bastante neutro, se puede combinar con colores llamativos y el resultado es muy original.

Some time ago I decided to use brown paper to wrap gifts because as it is a quite neutral color, it can be combined with bright colors and the result is very original.

¿Verdad que el resultado es genial? Se me ocurrió utilizar hilo rosa en lugar de negro y le da un toque super mono :) Además elegí esta imagen en concreto de Hello Kitty porque es diferente a las imágenes que se suelen ver de ella y porque está muy simpática guiñando el ojo ;)

Isn't the result great? It came to me to use pink thread instead of black thread and it gives a super cute touch :) Moreover I chose this particular Hello Kitty picture because is different to the usual pics that we see of her and because she looks lovely winking her eye ;)
